Why buy a vapor heat treatment system? |

When importing tropical fresh fruit such as papaya, mango, mangosteen, lychee and pitahaya for consumption purposes the fruit is checked for quarantine pests such as fruit fly, as per Plant Quarantine Law of Japan. As per this law, any fruit that has undergone the process of “vapor heat treatment” is eligible for import in Japan, as this process sterilises the pests without the use of chemicals in an environmental friendly way.

1. Sterilization is performed without the use chemicals, so there are no harmful effects on human health, and the quality of the fruit is preserved naturally. |

2. Treatment is performed with saturated water vapor, so transpiration of water is prevented and there is no shrinkage of fruit skin or loss of heat through vaporization. |

3. In the process fruit enters at normal temperature and is treated with saturated water vapour of higher temperatures thereby greatly improving treatment efficiency, as condensation increases the surface area treated. The pests are thereby sterilised and treated effectively. |

4. The differential pressure mechanism involves the forced supply of heated and saturated water vapour to achieve superior temperature and humidity distribution, so that large volumes of fruit can be sterilized in a single chamber with uniform temperature and humidity. The instrumentation and controls provided are state of the art. |
